The choice of the Gendarmenmarkt as place to stage concerts is due to its architectural grandeur and history dating back to the seventeenth century. During the period of the GDR it was renamed Platz der Academie, restoring its original name after the reunification.

It is said that the best coffee in Germany is found in the Gendarmenmarkt square, so if you are on vacation or just spending a few summer days in apartments in Berlin and want some special fun, attend the festival and then you will appreciate the cuisine and cafes that surround the most beautiful square in the city.
